Hey gamers! Ready to dive into the multiplayer madness of Palworld? Whether you're hosting or joining the fun, we've got the lowdown on how to make the most of it.

Hosting or Joining Personal Save Files

You've got options: gather up to four pals in a personal save file or jump into a dedicated server with a whopping 32 players. Joining a personal save is easy – just input the invite code, found in the host player's options. If the code's playing hide and seek, the host can fix it by toggling the multiplayer option in world settings. And remember, every new session means a fresh invite code for your buddies.

Playing on Dedicated Servers

For dedicated server action, take your pick – join a public one, host your own, or pay for a hosting website. Personally, I prefer the latter – it's the easiest way to go. Keep in mind, dedicated servers are currently only available on Steam. So, if you want more than four-player sessions, Steam it is!

How Multiplayer Works in Palworld

Multiplayer mode shakes things up a bit. Check out these key differences:

1. Team Up for Tower Bosses: Get your crew together to take down tower bosses like Zoe and Grizzbolt.
2. Guilds Are Like Parties: Only members of your guild can help build on your base. If your pals want unique bases, they'll need their own guild.
3. Losing Pals When You Die: Unfortunately, when you kick the bucket, you drop not only your gear but also all your Pals.
4. Solo World Exploration: Each player uncovers the map individually, unlocking fast travel points along the way.
5. Unique Loot: Loot is tied to the world, not the player. If you snag a chest or a shiny Pal Sphere, your pals won't get the same.

Dedicated Server Hiccups

Keep in mind, dedicated servers may throw a curveball. We faced some odd issues, like struggling to jump up cliffs without tumbling and wonky item counts during building. It's an early access game, so a few hiccups are par for the course.

Crossplay Multiplayer? Not Yet

Bad news for Xbox and Steam crossplay – it's a no-go. Even the Xbox Game Pass on PC version won't sync up with Steam players. If you want to play with friends, everyone needs to be on the same platform. But don't worry, Pocketpair is working on crossplay, so stay tuned!

Palworld on PS5? Maybe Down the Road
