'Alan Wake' Now Playable in 'Dead by Daylight'; Limited-Time Event Arriving February 7 [Trailer]

It's the big day for Alan Wake as he steps into The Fog and becomes part of Behaviour Interactive’s Dead by Daylight. Alan Wake joins the asymmetrical multiplayer game as the newest Survivor in Tome 18: Revision.

By now, you're familiar with the story: Alan Wake, the bestselling author, grapples with writer’s block. A visit to Bright Falls was meant to clear his mind, but instead, it triggered a series of terrifying events that led to his disappearance and entrapment in the mysterious Dark Place. Now, as he struggles to write his way out of the Dark Place, memories of a script he penned for Night Springs about a fog-covered nightmare haunt him. These memories reshape reality as he gets pulled into The Entity’s Realm and the world of Dead by Daylight, exchanging one Dark Place for another.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Alan Wake to The Fog as a Survivor,” says Mathieu Coté, Head of Partnerships at Behaviour Interactive. “It's always been clear to us that Alan fits naturally into the Dead by Daylight universe. Both games draw from similar inspirations and pay homage to horror icons of the past. We’re eager to see how players react to his new nightmare—poor Alan just can’t catch a break.”

Fortunately, Alan has a few tricks to aid his survival. As previously mentioned, Alan comes equipped with three unique Perks: Champion of Light, Boon: Illumination, and Deadline. Champion of Light boosts movement speed while wielding a Flashlight, Boon: Illumination allows Alan to set up a Boon Totem granting nearby Survivors the ability to see Generator and Chest Auras across the Map, and Deadline increases the frequency of Skill Checks while healing or repairing Generators.

Tome 18 introduces new memories for Alan Wake, The Deathslinger, and the House of Arkham. Progressing through the Rift and completing fresh gameplay Challenges unlocks Charms, Outfits, and more for various characters, including customization options for the Alan Wake Player Card and the Alan’s Darker Side Outfit available on the Premium Pass.

On the topic of outfits, the new DLC offers several options. The Alan Wake Classic (Very Rare) Outfit features Alan in his classic look with a short hairstyle, a battered head, and a blazer-hoodie combo reminiscent of the original game. The Bright Falls (Very Rare) Outfit offers a more relaxed appearance, dressing Alan in a checkered shirt and casual blue jeans.

Furthermore, two beloved characters from the Alan Wake series join him in The Fog as Legendary Outfits: Saga Anderson (Legendary) and Rose Marigold (Legendary). Saga Anderson takes on the role of the talented FBI agent, while Rose Marigold transforms into the Oh Deer Diner waitress. The Alan Wake Classic and Saga Anderson Outfits are available now, while The Bright Falls and Rose Marigold Outfits will be released on February 6.

And if all that isn't enough, Behaviour Interactive has a special treat for fans next month with a time-limited event called Lights Out. Modifiers are new adjustments to the existing Trial format, offering players a unique and thrilling experience. The event, starting February 7, introduces a new modifier called Lights Out, plunging the map into darkness with no Loadout, no Terror Radius, and no Scratch Marks.

The Lights Out Modifier will be available from February 7 at 8:00 a.m. PST / 11:00 a.m. EST until February 14 at 8:00 a.m. PST / 11:00 a.m. EST.

Tome 18 for Dead by Daylight is now accessible on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Windows Store.
